Featured Writers for Q4 2008
The Hundred and Four exists to take talented writers and give them both practical experience and training in doing the kinds of writing that people pay to read. Part of the success of this project is that each "class" have a apprentice-to-teacher ratio of no higher than three to one.
The "first class" of The Hundred and Four (affectionately called "The Crew"* internally, in deference to the Christopher J. Priest title of that name) consists of the following three writers:
These three writers have accepted a two-year correspondence course of study that does not (should not?) interfere with their regular professions or lives. They receive individual attention from an experienced writer and editor, who works on helping minimize their weaknesses, emphasize their strengths while providing access to new skills. As well, the editor leads by example, participating in each exercise alongside the apprentices.
The "first class" is edited by Hannibal Tabu.
Once every quarter, a "journal" of the works assigned will be presented as a web magazine on The Hundred and Four website.

* = In case you're wondering, according to the metaphor, Rumond Taylor is Josiah Bradley, Ritch Hall 2 is Kevin "Kasper" Cole, Chinedum Ofoegbu is Daniel "Danny" Vincent and Hannibal Tabu signs in as Jim Rhodes. It's expected that the next "class" will have a different internal nomenclature.
